These photos exhibit three different principles of compositions in photography. Symmetry is when the two halves of the photos are identical. This concept can be found in the world, or be achieved through editing through the use of a mirror effect. Balance is when the two halves of the photos are made up of similar elements but are not identical to each other. Finally, asymmetry is when the two halves of the photo are different from each other.

I really like how you either made the picture black and white or made the colors pop a lot.
ReplyDeleteYour asymmetrical photos are very unique and interesting to look at. My favorite is the first one with the subject reaching for the sky.
ReplyDeleteHowdy Declan! Your artists statement and your series itself show that you have great understanding of symmetry, asymmetry, and balance. I like the aesthetic of that photo of the mircowaves—its very crisp and i feel like i could see it at the moma. Nice work!
ReplyDeleteI really like your use of black and white and color as well as your angles.
ReplyDeleteThe blue sky in your first asymmetrical photo really stands out and looks pretty. Also the microwave photo is really good and I'm surprised you were able to find two to take a photo of next to each other.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed the picture with the red doors in your section of symetry. It is a really cool photo considering you didn't use the mirror filter for this photo. Good job
