These photos all exhibit an example of the illusion of depth in photography. I used three strategies in my photos: Leading lines, repetition and depth staging. Leading lines are lines within the photo that lead the viewer from the front of the photo to the back. Repetition means that an object or pattern repeats over and over to give the illusion that this pattern might go on much longer than it does and show distance. Finally, depth staging means having an object in the foreground, and another in the background to highlight distance or dept between the two.

Your leading line photographs are very successful and my favorite is the one with crack in the sidewalk. I love how you didn't just use a straight and instead our eyes follow a jagged crack.
ReplyDeletei think the texture in all of these shots make the photos that much better. the darker, more silhouetted ones are great as well because the lack of color and detail really makes you focus on the simple lines and patterns.
ReplyDeleteI really like your choice with the depth staging. I think you were able to make the photos more interesting/mysterious with editing the photos to make them darker.
ReplyDeleteI think the lack of vibrant bright colours gives the photos better edges and textures.
ReplyDeleteyour highlights are subtle, but that is what makes the photos really stand out.
ReplyDeleteI really like your editing and how you made the simpleness of the photos really stand out and appear more complicated.
