Artist Project Draft #1

My project was inspired by Kevin Bjorke's liquidity project which can be found here: (https://goo.gl/RBLqVf

My goal with this project was to capture motion in a still photo with a clear sense of direction. My photos may be abstract, or more clear. I try to make the tone of these photos mysterious, where it way not be initially clear what you are looking at while still having a subject to focus on.

The recipe for creating these photos is a camera with a darkening lens. I change the camera settings to lower the shutter speed depending on how much blur I want, and how much I want within the frame. To take the photo I point my camera at, or next to the subject and move the camera in various directions. I usually taking several photos of the same subject with the camera moving different ways. After the photos are taken I edit them by putting on a Black and White filter, doing any necessary cropping, and then adjusting the exposure to fit the mood of the series.

  • Photographer uses prompts to get genuine reactions

  • White background

  • Black and White filter only

  • No props or distractions

  • Good lighting, with no shadow

  • Square cropping

  • Close/ Direct on angling.
