Spring Portfolio

Here is a collection of all of the photos I made for my spring project. During this project, I experimented with many different technical skills, such as lighting and staging. I started off building my collages on the tables but later moved them to the ground so I could make my photos more stable.  I also started using more online archives for my image and text sources. I also experimented with different types of tearing to create texture and mystery.

Collage Photos #3

For this set, I experimented more with textures and used the same source for many of my other sources for photos and text. Because of this, the first two photos of this set have an increased sense of narrative. I also experimented more with texture and sharpness. This, along with other things changed the legibility of the text I put into my photos.

Spring Project #2

I continued my project of setting up objects and photos (my own and other's) up in order to have an interpretive narrative. For these photos, I focused more on texture, making its presence in the frame much more dramatic. I also made a couple of these photos from mostly one source, instead of the collection of many different sources I mostly did on the last set. However, I made sure to limit the amount of context for the photos to remain mysterious.

Spring Project (Collages)

For my project, I laid out a collection of objects and photos from various sources. Some of the photos I took in previous projects, while some are from other sources. These photos are designed to have an interpretive narrative. However, they are also supposed to be mysterious, with little context given to the meaning of the writing or other images.
